Ms. Dixit was the former Chief Minister of Delhi and she was the longest serving CM of Delhi who served in the state from 1988 to 2014.
Ms. Dixit who heads the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee will be contesting for the poll opposite Manoj Tiwari the BJP candidate and Dilip Pandey from the Aam admi Party for the Lok Sabha election 2109.
Political analysts have cited the candidatures to be very interesting and strong. The BJP has ruled over all the seven Lok Sabha seats in the states whereas the AAP has a strong hold in the assembly seats.
Manoj Tiwari, BJP candidate from North Delhi stated that the fight in North Delhi will not be between three parties it will rather be between two parties only the Congress and the BJP.
Manoj Tiwari former actor and singer joined the BJP in 2014 and won the lok sabha constituency seat from North East Delhi through BJP by defeating the AAP candidate Anand Kumar with a margin of 1,44,084 votes.
The third candidate from AAP is Dilip Pandey a former software engineer who left his job in HongKong and shifted to India to join politics and AAP. Dilip Pandey is the convener of AAP Delhi unit since July 2014. Under the convenorship of Mr. Pandey the AAP created history by winning 67 out of the 70 seats in 2015 Delhi assembly elections.
Under the North Delhi Constituency the following constituency will go for polls Burari, Karawal Nagar, Timarpur, Mustafabad, Ghonda, Gokalpur, Babarpur, Rohtas Nagar, Seelampur, Seemapuri. Delhi will go for polling on 12th of May 2019, the elections are single phased in Delhi. The results of the elections will be announced by 23rd May.
The elections will bring about an immense fight between all the three candidates. All the three candidates contesting the election are seen to be influential and giving a challenge to the other two. The upcoming fate of the state will depend on who wins in the elections and what the elections bring about. What can be assured is that this is indeed a turbulent and challenging phase for Delhi.
