One of the biggest names in the world of social media and one of the leading corporate giants in the world, Facebook clarified its stance after it was alleged that in India it was being manipulated to spread hateful content and said that it “prohibits hate speech”. The huge political controversy in India alleging that Facebook has been involved in propagation of hatred and communal disharmony and the whole debate has been triggered by a report that appeared in the Wall Street Journal. The report stated that Facebook was engaged in purposeful and conscious ignorance of disruptive content put out on the social media platform especially by the right-wing leaders and workers.  After this, the Congress and the BJP locked horns and engaged in a heated discussion and the blame game has been going on in this regard. Moreover, the  Facebook executive who has allegedly been responsible for making Facebook favour the right-wing, filed a complaint, alleging that she was receiving threats online.

Congress Rubbishes Claims of Internal Discontent Regarding Leadership by Sanjay Jha  : Sanjay Jha worked as the spokesperson of the Congress for a long time but was removed from the party last month after he critiqued the Congress party’s stand quite publicly in the context of the ongoing turmoil with Rajasthan Congress leader Sachin Pilot. Sanjay Jha has now claimed that 100 leaders from the party are demanding a shift in leadership and have written to Sonia Gandhi demanding this and some other associated things. But the Congress party has said that no such letter has been written and Sanjay Jha is merely trying to divert political attention. Sanjay Jha tweeted

“It is estimated that around 100 Congress leaders (including MPs), distressed at the state of affairs within the party, have written a letter to Mrs Sonia Gandhi, Congress President, asking for change in political leadership and transparent elections in CWC.”

Jai Prakash Nishad Goes to Rajya Sabha Unopposed from Uttar Pradesh : BJP candidate Jai Prakash Nishad has been declared as the unopposed elected member to the Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh.Mr Nishad was the only candidate who had filed a nomination for the by-election as told by Election Officer Brij Bhushan Dubey to PTI.

NEP Will Help India Come at Par With International Standards, Says Minister for Education  : Union Minister for Education,  Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said during the IIT Delhi Diamond jubilee celebrations that the NEP will help India’s education system come at par with International standards. The minister noted “The NEP-2020 will make the country multi-lingual, hopeful. It will stand on the basis of Indianness and reach international limits, it will be effective and will help in ensuring the continuance of dialogue. It will also be inclusive.”
