Ratha Jatra (gods chariot) is a Hindu festival celebrated in the month of July every year. The festival consists of a long procession wherein devotees pull an intricately decorated chariot with deities Jagannath, Balabhadra, Subhadra and the Sudarshan Chakra. This chariot journey consists of elaborate celebrations. The Ratha Jatra of Puri(Odisha)is the largest and best known in the country and is known for attracting a large number of people each year.
